Tyler Barnes Bags Biggest From Massive Cherokee Day 1b

The final flight of a WSOP -C Cherokee Main Evemt is always guaranteed to be massive, special, and fun. The player who came out of the other side with the biggest stack in North Carolina POKER was Tyler Barnes with 1,373,000. That surpasses the mark from yesterday, so Barnes carries the most chips into what promises to be an epic Day 2 tomorrow. Late in the day, Barnes showed at least one thing it takes to make a deep run in a large MTT: luck. Barnes was all in with a bigger stack with ace-ten against the ace-king of his opponent. Of course, a ten-high flop only added to what would eventually be the largest stack at the end of the night. Any one who has made a deep run in one of these can tell you there are always a few of those you text your friends about. After both starting flights here in the Tar Heel State, the field totalled to 1,659 entries in play. Of those, 170 locked up their seats in tomorrow’s game. With over $2.5 million in the prize pool, big paydays are in play after another night’s sleep tonight. Play picks up tomorrow at 12 noon local time. All seat draws and chip counts can be found in the EVENTS tab above. We’ll be live with even more updates starting tomorrow on the Instant alive feed at Instant. POKER .org. We’ll see if Paul can pull off a miracle, Nyquil-infused recovery, but Tiffa y Michelle and crew will carry us towards a final table tomorrow.
