Registration Has Closed in Day 1a of the Main Event!

After 12 full levels of play, the numbers for Event #9: $1,700 Main Event, are final. Let’s take a look at how they measure up.

Registration closed with a total of 190 entries, bringing in $287,850 of the $1,000,000 guarantee.

There are currently 45 players remaining with the field scheduled to play through the completion of Level 17 or when just 31 players remain, whichever comes first.

With the number of players remaining and five 40-minute levels left to play, it’s rather unlikely that we’ll see the field make it through all 17 levels of play.

Some notable stacks left in the field include Justin Hankinson (165,000), Robert Kozik (270,000), James Gregg (345,000) and Joe Elpayaa, who is sitting behind 350,000.

The current runaway chip leader of Flight 1a, who is sitting on more than double anyone else remaining in the field, is Brian Altman. Brian is a bracelet winner who also holds 4 WSOP Circuit rings (three of which are in Main Events) and boasts 84 WSOP cashes for $1,600,000. His total lifetime live earnings are over $8,000,000, so to say that we have an early front-runner would be an understatement as Altman is certainly one to watch throughout the remainder of this event.

A full chip count report and Day 1a recap will be posted shortly after players bag for the day.
