John “Jason” Carothers Wins Event #7 For $34,200

The Monster Stack came to an end after 3 days of play as 542 entries became just one winner which was John “Jason” Carothers who captured his first ring and the nice score of $34,200.

“This is surreal” he said simply afterwards as this win is more than triple his previous largest cash of $11,407 and is well more than his total career earnings of just over $21,000.

The 38 year old Jonesboro,AR native said that he comes to play cash GAMES in Tunica which is the more common form of POKER that he plays. But he added that he will certainly play the Main Event here in Tunica now thanks to this win.

Carothers was steady throughout the final table as he never had the big stack but was always around the middle. He entered heads up play with a chip deficit against Mike Troutt who had been the chip leader for most of Day 2 but he overcame that quickly and win in just a few minutes despite both players having a fairly deep heads up stack.
