Jesse Jones Wins Event #1 for $98,762

The final table of Event #1: $400 No Limit Hold’em had nearly $300,000 up for grabs. The final table featured eliminations in quick bursts and after a few short hours Jesse Jones took down the event for his second WSOPC ring and $98,762.

The Missouri traveling pro pushed his WSOP career earnings to nearly $400,000 with the win. When asked about his tablemates he said, (the final table) It was actually a little tougher than I thought it would be,” he said. “Some of these older guys are a little scrappy. When they’re aggressive it’s always challenging to play against.”

“I just kind of waited for them to bust out and got hot at the right time,” he said. “I stayed patient (heads-up) and tried to keep the pots small and play more post-flop.”

Jones plans to stick around the Main Event after his recent win.
